Museum Staff

David Hildebrand
David Hildebrand presides over the whole estate - the five museums and both schools. Three careers behind the desk: twenty years in business, twenty in teaching, and fifty years of socio-economic research on cities and the people who build them tall.
The museum directors and the heads of the Academy and the Institute answer to him; he answers to the work.
His method is Braudel's longue durée, out of the French Annales School: the slow structural forces — geography, climate, and economy over centuries — that decide, among other things, when and where a city goes vertical.
Appointments are made by the Director’s office. The Docent Corps (40 serving) reports to the Docent Director’s desk, currently held by the Director herself.
